So it is one of the top foodie events of the calendar and it kicks off next week, yes Belfast Restaurant week is back and I am here to give you my top 5 picks to enjoy it!
Buba
I have only just discovered Buba after visiting with a friend, I don’t think I have shut up about it. An Eastern Mediterranean theme they are best known for their ‘Munchies’ or small plates, designed for you to share with your friends. A great way to try a range of different dishes from a cuisine you might not be too familiar with. A dedicated Vegan menu with some super dishes is sure to impress the ever growing NI Vegan community and the cool interiors and the ability to dine in front of the chefs makes Buba a must visit over BRW19.
Havana Bank Square
I sometimes feel this place gets forgotten about, probably because of its location, just off Castle Street. I’ve included Havana because there are serving up one of my favs over BFW19; Braised Short Rib of Beef with truffle potatoes and greens, if that isn’t enough to tempt you there’s also 9 other courses to mix and match from. Once again I must point out that the interiors are lovely in Havana Bank Sq, especially the ceiling!
Flame Restaurant
I have never had a bad meal here, it’s as simple as that! So when I saw that Flame were going to be part of BRW19 I had to include them in my list. Probably my favourite starters of restaurant week can be found here, the lamb koftas sound insane and that Grilled Courgette dish (a main) has me drooling. Add to the mix 3 fantastic desserts and Flame has to be on your BRW19 list too. A shout out to the staff who are always welcoming and will strive to make your night special.
Coppi
One of my favourite restaurants in Belfast Coppi brings you modern Italian food like no other in Belfast. The real delight comes when you find out that their BRW19 menu includes their famous cichettis (small plates) in fact you get 2 cichettis and a main for £15. I always feel like going to Coppi is a real treat, we always go for special occasions, it is such a beautiful restaurant and they are passionate about local produce which always strikes a cord with me. BRW19 is the perfect time to try Coppi and fall in love with it, just as I have.
Cafe Parisien
Cafe Parisien for me gives you the chance to experience the best table in Belfast – the rotunda table with its multiple windows overlooking the City Hall is a real treat. The lush interiors and staff transport you to Paris and the BRW19 menu isn’t bad either! The words Goats Cheese and Pistachio Bon Bons not only excite me, they have left me intrigued, hungry and wanting to try, BFW19 is the perfect chance to do this, I think I’d also order the Beef Bourguignon and just enjoy a night in Paris.
