It is very evident that one of, if not the coolest hotel in Belfast is Bullitt. It’s new, (in relation to others) it’s fresh and it boasts some really cool spaces such as Baltic, Babel and the Roof Terrace. Well you can add Taylor & Clay to that list because it is both very trendy and very tasty, pair that with a very reasonable price point and you have a winner!
The reclaimed wood table that sits proudly in the middle of the restaurant is the perfect space for a large family gathering and then the cosy side tables which sit around the perimeter of the room are great for an intimate date or even just to catch up on some uninterrupted work. If a double date is on the cards then the booths just as you go in are the seats for you.
I was invited along to check out their Winter Sale Menu – 3 courses for £20, in the center of Belfast will be hard to beat, the menu is limited but I am sure you will find something to wet your taste buds.
This 3 courses for £20 is available Sunday to Friday and lasts up until the end of February 2019 (excludes February 14th)
My Food
I enjoyed the Cured Duck, a cold salad with the most amazing sauce and crumbled walnuts with thinly sliced duck breast for my starter before moving onto the Beef Tagine – think of a big bowl of heart warming Moroccan Stew served with the most amazing freshly baked flat breads. I’d never had a Tagine before and I was very impressed, the apricots and chickpeas added flavour and bulk to this and the void void was a great match; I couldn’t finish this dish…it was huge.
Lauren got the Crispy Squid which was fantastic, the curried Asian slaw was beautiful, I preferred this starter to mine, it was very good, Major plus; the squid was not chewy!
For mains Lauren got the Chicken Supreme, chicken breast in the bone with a side of garlic potatoes and seasonal greens and then a burnt onion cream, a nice change to the usual pepper sauce or gravy.
We also enjoyed a cocktail each which came in at just £5 per cocktail.
Overall a really enjoyable trip to Taylor & Clay at Bullitt Hotel – we often neglect or are reluctant to go to a hotel restaurant for dinner but I would strongly advise trying here, beautiful surroundings, talented chefs and a very reasonable price point make this a fantastic option in our busy city centre!
Thank you to Bullitt for inviting me down to try the menu and spread the word!
