So guys over the two weeks I am sure some of you, myself included will end up in Belfast City Centre doing some last minute shopping, you know you will! But let me warn you, never shop on an empty stomach, that is risky business! So just in case you are in Belfast and need a bite to eat I have complied a few of my favourite cafe spots for you to check out.
The National Belfast
Beautiful inside and out The National is probably my favourite building in Belfast, I just love it. Add to that some gorgeous decor and a fab menu and you have great spot for grabbing some food. The Croque Monsieur is a personal fav. Perfect with friends, you may even want a wee tipple with your grub.
Pottingers
A new find for me, the most affordable on the list these guys offer up scrumptious breakfasts and some excellent sandwiches and wraps among other delights. They have some fab early morning deals which are def worth checking out! Heavy ethos on local produce and no waste which is great to see. Their filled bagels are something else. PS. Get a coffee.
DownTools
I was lucky enough to help these guys out with their Instagram so I got to try all the grub, what a day that was. After a few other visits I can firmly say this place serves good food – the best dish is the 12 hour brisket, it is insane! Serving up 3FE coffee too so def grab a cup when you are in! Great selection here for vegans and vegetarians too. Kid friendly with seating inside, upstairs and outside!
The Pocket
The Festive Waffle – that is all. The newbie on the scene, the newest brother to the Pocket Family. I adore the one opposite Queens and think Belfast’s newest addition will do very well. Another cafe boasting beautiful decor both internal and external. Another fab choice for our vegan and veg community in NI!
Foggy Brew
Salads, Sandwiches, toasties and treats I stumbled upon this place totally by mistake, it’s on Berry St. Unassuming, cool, relaxed vibes with very funny advertising boards. I just enjoy this place, it’s the perfect pace to go and get your head down, read a book or catch up on emails. Food is delivered from an array of local producers so selection changes quite regularly. Probably the most laid back cafe I’ve ever been in, like popping round your mates for a brew.
There you have it guys, remember cafes aren’t just for Christmas, feel free to visit these places all year round!
