So it has been almost 3 months since I last blogged, if you keep up to date you’ll know that we’ve had an addition to the family; wee Lily Hogan has arrived and she is keeping me busy, so I write this, very quietly, as she sleeps after a 5 ounce feed. Luckily this blog is about my favourite time of year…Christmas!
We were recently invited up to La Mon House Hotel to experience some on the festivities they have on offer this year, this is the second year I have been invited up, last year it was to try their Festive Afternoon Tea which I’m pleased to inform is still going strong and still ridiculously tasty, it’s hand crafted in the La Mon patisserie and can even come with a wee glass of prosecco. This year it was a little different and we as a family were invited up to experience a Festive Getaway, what a fantastic way to kick start your festive celebrations! There are a host of brilliant getaways and other great things to do at La Mon this year, and next with their New Year Celebrations…
Here’s a link to their Christmas 18 brochure where you can find offers and treats including; Party Nights, Festive Tea Parties, Retreats and indulgent Spa breaks.

So here’s a little about our stay away; we ate mince pies in front of the open fire, enjoyed a walk round Santa’s Grotto and we even managed a sneaky meal at The Mill Restaurant which had a live pianist on the night. The hotel was decorated beautifully and the front lobby was especially nice, it was adorned with garlands and hundreds of lights, which really come to life at night! Lily was obviously too young to appreciate just how special it was but it you have children aged between 4-11 this would be a magical family festive adventure, the kids can even enjoy a trip to the North Pole to write their Santa letters and can enjoy a song or two from Rudolph before getting the chance to meet Santa.
Even though Lily hadn’t got a clue what was going on that didn’t stop the staff going the extra mile; our room was set up with a Next-to-Me crib and Lily even received her first ever Christmas present. have a look at Roger the Reindeer below.
If you do decide to stay over then you also get to enjoy a full La Mon buffet breakfast, when we went down there was already a family there and all the kids had matching pyjamas, don’t tell Lauren but I’ve ordered us all matching PJs for Christmas EVE!
Another great incentive to lure you to La Mon is the Gift Card Offer, here if you buy a £100 voucher you will get £10 free. These gift cards can be used for as range of services within the hotel so if you’re struggling for some Christmas gift inspiration then look no further than La Mon.
If you don’t here from me beforehand, have a very Merry Christmas everyone
Conor
